In #119 Andy gives a breakdown on Simon Sinek’s recent viral video about “millennials” then clarifies his own position on the problems or shortcomings of the millennial generation. Andy says that for the most part they’re like every other generation but the challenges for any employer or leader is understanding millennials were raised with different technologies and entertainment (internet, video games, etc.) than previous generations which has seriously hindered their communication skills (among other things). It’s refreshing to finally hear criticism of millennials that is more specific than just the generic, “they’re lazy and entitled!” nonsense that every generation has said about the previous generation since the dawn of time. What some listener’s may not know is that the generation-specific communication problems Andy points out are addressed (with solutions) in one of Vaughn Kohler’s booklets that can be found at Go download and learn, young friends. 🙂
